Read-O-Rama TBR

Long time no blog! With the end of the school year, and then the start of summer break, life has been crazy and I just fell off the blogging train. But there’s a read-a-thon this week, and I love a good read-a-thon, so I’m back.

Yesterday kicked off the 7th round of Read-O-Rama. This read-a-thon is a week long, running from yesterday, June 11 until Saturday, June 17. There are a handful of challenges to attempt throughout the week and I’m hoping to tackle all but “read a graphic novel.” I’m just not a graphic novel fan and I have none on my TBR so I’m not going to waste precious reading time on one.

The Challenges

#1: Read a book with “RAMA” on the cover. This is any combination, between the title and the authors name, of those four letters.

#2: Read a short book – less than 150 pages

#3: Read an own-voices book

#4: Read one of your highly anticipated reads

#5: Read a book published in the summer. This doesn’t have to be summer of 2017. It just needs to have been published in a June, July, or August of any year.

#6: Read a book with water on the cover

#7: Read a graphic novel

#8: Read a total of seven books

#1: Read a book with RAMA in the title. For this I went with All Our Wrong Todays by All Our Wrong TodaysElan Mastai. All OuR Wrong TodAys by Elan MAstai. I’m already about 300 pages into this one and hope to finish it this morning.

#2: Read a short book: For this I will be reading the Remnant Chronicles novella Morrighan (The Remnant Chronicles, #0.5)Morrighan by Mary E. Pearson, clocking in at only 82 pages.

#3: Read an own voices book: If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo. This book is If I Was Your Girlabout a transgender girl starting at a new high school her senior year. The book was inspired by Russo’s own experience as a transgender woman.

#4: Read one of your highly anticipated reads: Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #3)Jenny Han. I just finished the first two in this series and I’m super excited to continue. So far I absolutely love them.

#5: Read a book published in the summer: The Shark Club by Anne Kidd Taylor. ThisThe Shark Club is a brand new release. It just came out on June 6th and I have a copy I can’t wait to pick up.

#6: Read a book with water on the cover: The Sisters Chase by Sarah Healy. This wasThe Sisters Chase one of my Book of the Month picks and it just so happens to have water on the cover, making it the perfect fit for this challenge.

#7: Read seven books: Since I will not be completing the graphic novel challenge, my The Arrangement The Sleepwalker (Sleepwalker, #1)seventh book is a freebie. I’m leaving this one open to change as the week goes on but as of right now I’m thinking either The Arrangement by Sarah Dunn or The Sleepwalker by Chris Bohjalian. Both are pretty short and should be quick reads, however one is light and fluffy and the other is full of suspense. It really will just depend what reading mood I’m in by the end of the week.

Seven books in seven days is always a challenge. However, I have quite a few short and easy reads on this list so I’m hoping to be able to tackle most if not all of this list. Are you participating in Read-O-Rama or any other read-a-thons this summer? Let me know in the comments below!
